The galaxy twirls into view from the National Science Foundation’s NOIRLab in Chile. Colloquially nicknamed the Spanish Dancer, spiral galaxy NGC 1566 is often studied by astronomers learning about galaxy groups, stars of different ages, and galactic black holes.
